This engagement session at the New Orleans Botanical Garden was extra special—partly because the couple happens to be my stepbrother and his soon-to-be wife (cue the happy tears), and partly because it turned out to be one of my favorite sessions ever.
It was all of our first time at the Botanical Garden, and even in winter, the place was stunning. So much greenery, texture, and tucked-away beauty that made it easy to find spots that felt peaceful and intimate—but also full of life, just like these two.
They were a little nervous heading in (first time with a professional photographer!), but once they focused on each other, the magic happened. No awkward posing or forced smiles—just natural connection and so many little in-between moments that made this gallery shine.
Sessions like this are why I do what I do. It’s not about being perfect in front of the camera—it’s about being present. If you’re engaged, in love, and want photos that feel like you, this is your sign to go for it.
